Nadine LE PRINCE est née à Paris. Elle descend d’une longue lignée d’artistes exerçant depuis le seizième siècle. Son parent Jean-Baptiste LE PRINCE fut un artiste de renom au dix-huitième siècle. Il était l’ami de DIDEROT et peignait à la Cour Russe. À l’âge de dix-sept ans, elle présente pour la première fois ses œuvres. Elle n’était encore qu’adolescente quand elle a rejoint le courant des « Peintres réalistes». L’observation de la nature et la traduction de la lumière témoignent de son admiration pour la peinture du dix-huitième siècle. Elle l’actualise par le choix et la composition du sujet. « La peinture en trompe-l'oeil est pour moi une sorte de défi pour donner une illusion en trois dimensions dans un climat qui m'est propre, une perspective du réel vers l'imaginaire. […] Je ne cherche pas à prouver mon habilité, ni à exécuter un tour de force, mais à créer une apparence, de l'illusion et de la magie qui me sont propre. Je tente d'avoir un concept spirituel et sensible en espérant que les ondes qui s'en dégagent pourront être captées. » Nadine LE PRINCE Born in Paris, Nadine LE PRINCE is the descendant of a long line of artists dating back to the sixteenth century. Her most renowned ancestor, Jean-Baptiste LE PRINCE lived in the eighteenth century. He was a friend of DIDEROT and a painter for the Russian Court. She was only seventeen when she first took part in an exhibition and was still a teenager when she joined “Painters of Reality”. The way she scrutinizes nature and translates light reveals how truly she admires paintings of the eighteenth century. She updates them with subjects chosen and composed in a new spirit. " To me the "trompe l'oeil" painting is challenge. I wish to give a three-dimension illusion in an my own atmosphere and in a perspective of reality to imagination. […] I have neither tried to give proof of my skills or to perform a "tour de force". I prefer creating an appearance, an illusion and a magic suitable for myself.
